Self search on Yesterdays Tractors.

Is there a means to do a search of postings I have done on this site?

I posted a question on cleaning rust on seams in metal and received many good responses. I want to review the post but cant find it. Unfortunately, I used the term rust in the posting and every search I do generates the daily rust pictures.

Thanks.

On modern view you can search by author, so if you made that post enter your handle in the search line for author to find any post you have made. Someone with more computer skills can probably explain it better than I can to help you

Or, ....I think all posts are archived, except for Tractor Takes, once the thread is pushed off the shown pages.
Exact post title is probably needed if doing a search in archives. However, on my cell device, the search window to type in the search on the archive page, doesn't pop up and display on my screen for some reason. And I got to go clear back to Google and type in a search there.

When I do this I prefer to use the Search method in Modern as described by J Hamilton. The results are more condensed in my way of thinking. Searching from your profile does provide more information as to the number of replies and views of the particular posts.

I use modern view only and do all my searches as outlined above. You can search not only your own posts, but anyone else's also using this method.

Yup, easy on modern view. Whenever I log in I go first to "my posts" and check for activity on threads that I had previously posted to. One click.

Would you mind explaining how you could edit a reply on this discussion forum without utilizing Modern view?

Your statement is similar to "" Beauty is in the eye of the beholder""!! Not everyone desires to scroll back through several pages of replies on Classic to view a post that was replied to recently when usually a replied to post utilizing Modern view is on the 1st page of each section.

You misunderstood my post. Modern View is what I use, it is far superior as you appear to know.

My post was an attempt at humour at the expense of the archaic loving crowd.

Also, if you hit the edit button then hit the enter key on the keyboard the quoted post will show up in archaic view which makes it clear who you are responding to.

I was not aware of this, but I tried it and it worked! I just clicked "update" at the bottom of the edit screen. I learned something today!

Thanks, Carlmac!

You're welcome. I stumbled upon it by accident somehow.
