When using John Deere 7000 maximerge planting units how close can you get the row units when placed side by side on the same bar?? Can you get them down to 15 rows? Do the standard 1 1/2 bushel boxes rub together? If you used the 3 bushel boxes will that allow the units to go to 15 rows? Thanks.

If you set them that close you have to block every other row up to work on them with any room. We set a White planter to 17 inch rows so they don't rub. Might be able to go slightly less. I doubt down to 15. IF you want more seed capacity they have extensions for the small boxes or used to. I don't think the Deere units will quite slide down to 15 inches. Even with the small boxes on. I know a guy I worked for back years ago had a bracket on the side of his 7000 for press wheel driven units he bolted on for narrow row beans worked ok till you filled it up then you had to work around the rows for filling the front ones. Stones don't flow through well either. Of course not everybody has stones.

The 7000 row units are a bit wider than the 7200 and newer, I think? Seems 7000 might go down to about 18 inches? Going from memory here...

Kinze units on mine are set at 15 inch rows. About 3 or 4 inches between them. Every other row is set back about 12 inches, that helps accessibility a lot. Bit of a reach to fill the front ones though.
