Tractor video with lunch

Was watching this and got to the lunch and thought that's how it should be done. Wasn't too far off from how mom did it, less the candle. Lunch is about the 9 minute mark if you don't want to see the rest. Case promoted the 70 series as jet age tractors.

I liked the Rawhide theme music at the opening. The narrator's voice was not John Wayne...........but he did have the same.........halting cadence...........as John Wayne.................and Captain James T. Kirk.

Back before the wife burned her bra and took an off farm job to pay for all the toys and modern conveniences we have today.

My sister and I were talking just a few weeks ago about how our mom and dads house note was less than what some pay for a family cell phone bill.

I am 72 and my mother worked her entire life. We had an outhouse and a stock tank upstairs for water. Many a winter day my Dad used a propane torch to thaw the galvanized pipe that carried water down to the kitchen. Dad quit farming when I was small but we lived in that house until I graduated from high school.

(quoted from post at 20:08:52 03/15/22) Where was the big dog? The 1570
1570 wasn't out yet at the time of this advertising. About 1971 from the looks of it. The 1470 four wheel drive would have been the biggest one. I remember all that when it was new fifty years ago. Still got most of the advertising brochures they sent out. Interesting to look back on now.

If it was a Deere commercial they would be having prime rib and lobster with a good bottle of wine.If it was a IH commercial they wouldn't be eating in the field as the plowing would have been done before lunch.Gonna leave the Oliver's and White's outa this one as their in a class all by themselves.Couldn't resist.
