Nice Day Between Storms

We got a nice day Wednesday between storms. Supposed to be wind and drifting snow again today though. I shot a bit of video while taking a rest from shoveling snow yesterday. Still too cold to take the mitts off for long at -5F or so. Cattle were out enjoying the sun.

It even sounded cold, with the snow crunching under your feet. I looked at a national weather map yesterday, and it looked like everyone west of the Great Lakes was still in the deep freeze. 33F with sunshine before noon today, and our snow has been melting away this past week. But snow is back in the forecast for tonight.
Once all that snow you have melts , you will have water ponding everywhere.

You have really had some rough weather up your way compared to me in Southern Minnesota. Nice to see your cattle doing well in these bitter temps, especially those little calves. Thank you for the video update sir. Keep them coming please. Kow Farmer Kurt

Weather forecast was right. We are back to blowing snow in strong NW winds today. Good thing I didn't waste expensive diesel fuel opening my driveway yesterday as it would have been for nothing.

Im in the mid south in Arkansas. 0 f is unusually cold for us. Have a cousins family who raises Angus seed stock. Winter 21 a 100 year winter storm came in and was 13 below for a couple days. About 10 o/o of his bulls froze their and were ruined. How do your bull come out of your winters fertile?
Just wondering

I don't know how they do it but the bulls never seem to suffer any damage from the cold here. Wind chill factor is supposed to be well down in the -30s tonight but of course they will be in the shelter out of the wind.

I have a hard fime believing that we have 40 below for weeks on end and never ever even heard of running a bull that way
