I have always called those snow drops. Usually come up soon after snow leaves here(central Washington) mine have been up for a while this year

In 14 days spring starts. Here in Rocks and Cows that means there will be about two weeks of melt, about a month of mud, one or two good snows in that time, maybe a third later. The weeds will be blooming on the southern exposure about the time its dry enough to till while the frost will still be in on the north side. If there is a good sawdust pile it will be thawed come July 4th.

Its amazing that you will have some kind of frost stuff that long. I assume you are not in the sun belt,

Wednesday, I saw a pair of Sand Hill cranes. Friday the Red wing black birds were back. But we just got our January thaw last week.
