I wound up repositioning the 3pt lift yokes upwards 1 set of splines. That made a huge difference and enabled me to set the center link length like it really needed to be. Thank you for everyone's replies !

Thats good news. I have had my 1086 since new. The arms come real close to the fuel tank when they Are fully raised. I dont think i would want them higher. It still does not pick implements as high as i would like. Its the nature of the beast i guess. In fact if the arms were a spline higher i dont think the arms would go low enough to get the quick hitch under the implement pins.

Hope some linkage isn't binding up and starts working then breaks your rockshaft housing, seen some 56 series with broken housings, that the linkage was messed up and carnaged happened.

I'm the 3rd owner of this tractor.
It hasn't been too many years ago
that I had to have the IH dealer
rebuild and replace everything from
the flywheel rearward, as it shelled
the hydraulic pump driveshaft
bearings. I guess it's possible
something didn't get set back
exactly right pertaining to the lift
height. They had it in a million pieces when I got called to look at it.It's better now, but also
realize it was never intended to pick up like a boxcar Magnum will.

I would think a tractor that size would lift close to 4500 or so Pounds very easily . That chisel probably weighs 3 or not quite
