My 4020 is pretty similar age, shape and hours to the one sold and I paid around $9,000.00 for it - same auction company - 20 years ago. Should have bought more!

A 3020 and 4020 and the old internationals will still be going in another 50 years .

for what used tractors are doing these days, I would say the seller did well and the buyers shouldn't have expected much cheaper.

I saw a Machinery Pete auction clip a month or so ago where Kevin Wendt was selling some JD newgens. While a 3020 was selling Pete inserted a caption in the video that said 3020's were up in price over the past year by some percentage. im not 100% sure what it was but IIRC it was in the high teens, like 18%.

Theres enough in the scrap yards to keep em going for awhile . John Deere has Most parts Im sure case Is pretty good as well

We had been looking for a decent IH large frame like a 706 to a 986 and everything out there is either parts tractors or around $10,000. I bit the bullet and bought a MF 1130 with loader for $4000. Runs great but looks rougher than a cob. Meanwhile the 706 we bought last year for $4500 and did some work on (head gasket, seat, wiring, and repaint while everything was apart) we just got offered $10,000 by a guy who drove across the field to chat up my son who was filling it with fuel.
