The knob broke off of the fuel shut-off rod on my D19 Allis Chalmers.

So--I got creative. I welded a new end onto the rod and went looking for something to use as a knob. Found this golf ball in a box of stuff.

Cool. Is this a solid golf ball? The old ones wound with rubber bands would not drill so well.

I've had that D19 in my shop for a couple of weeks.

Besides fixing the shut off rod to the injector pump, I installed a whole new seat, new steering wheel, replaced a loose tie rod, and some odds and ends of tinker work.

The old gal should be a bit more user friendly this spring.

I had a conventional knob come apart on my yesterday.....the plastic came off the shaft/bearing. Never had that happen before.

How's this for repurposing???
