The last two days (February 26th and 27th), the wind has been HOWLING around here. Just miserable.

I'm calling it close enough. Counts as "March... in like a lion" in my book. The weather doesn't look at the calendar.

Of course nothing saying we won't get something nasty in the next few days, because again, the weather doesn't look at the calendar.

Really, I consider anything from about 2/27 through 3/3 as "in like a lion."

It was a debate my Dad and I had. He insisted it had to be March 1st exactly.

It's been fairly decent around here the past two days. Saturday was sunny and warm enough to melt the driveway down to bare soil
and gravel. Been around long enough not to put much stock into Ground Hog Day and March 1 being any kind of animal.

And you put cookies and milk out for Santa on the 22nd? Close enuff. It's called March comes
in not March is almost here. and your Dad was right. LOL

In my neck of the woods, the saying
goes, March is in like a lion and out
like a lamb. So, in like a lamb, and
out like a lamb would be a good thing.

It was 84 here in Deerfield Beach, Florida yesterday. Thankfully, breezes off from the ocean made it feel a little cooler. (;>))

I'm just happy March actually gets here. Its still possible to have more winter around here but its usually short lived. We had some bare ground here for the first time this year last week and it felt good.
I'm ready for spring and start installing all the tractor parts I have been hording all winter.

Thank you, Bruce. I actually used to enjoy the cold. Much preferred it to hot weather, which we also got during summer in Wisconsin. One of the reasons I got out of the active Army was that they insisted on sending me to the hottest places on earth. But now, at the 'young' age of 85, I kind of enjoy this.

I just checked the temperature 54deg and rising. As of
yesterday we have 36 inches of frost, snow is mostly gone
. I guess its just about to service the mowers

It has always been my experience that the saying is backwards. As long as I have been observing, March has always
come in like a lamb (with mild weather) and gone out like a lion with late snowstorms and rough weather.
