Some sort of pot with handle, top stuck to ceiling some how.
Looks like there is another of the same pot upside down on the counter after being washed.
Salt and pepper shakers near the base unit for pot.
Some sort of cooker??

Years ago a neighbor did something similar, she didn't use a correct double boiler and just put one pot over the other with water in the lower one. When the steam built up it blew the pot of vegies up to the ceiling scalding her face and neck and denting the ceiling. She ended up in the Emergency room. I remember my mother using a double boiler but never had a problem. I remember the rubber safety plug blowing out of the pressure cooker once, what a noise that made.

The splatter could be from a shattered or open blender.

Kinda reminds me of the time when the Sunday night treat of popcorn and pop went wrong. The grape soda covered the kitchen cupboards and
ceiling and 4 or 5 kids. 1950s memories.

My dad ran a service station (MOBIL) and was a great friend of the current Sheriff at that time. His wife called my dad and said she had two pans/pots stuck together. Dad told her to put them on the stove and go watch tv. Guess the one made a ring on the ceiling and crap all over the kitchen! She called and cussed him and he laughed about that til the day he died. You have to remember the '60's were a whole different time.
