:) Has anyone pulled front axle on 5220 john deere how do i get retainer out also have a stanadyne pump that i would like to turn up any ideas ?
 
Hello weeds welcome to YT. The best answer for your front
axle is probably the purchase of a repair manual.
Maybe another route would be to go to the JD parts
book in the link. Choose a subsection between 20 & 44
that applies to your tractor and the parts you are
disassembling, then tell us exactly which ..retainer..
you are talking about. As far as turning up the wick,
you are already working on the front axle but you want
to put more strain on it with more power anyway?

You could turn it up some and it is not likely to hurt it, because it is not currently making a lot of power for the size of it. However, conventional wisdom says that without more air you won't get much more power, mostly just black smoke.
