I have discovered some unmarked jugs of fluid in a back corner of the garage. The fluid in them looks to be either antifreeze or windshield washer fluid. as the color is a bluish green. Is there an easy way to test which fluid it is?
 
You could test it with an antifreeze tester. Windshield washer will test like water.

Washer fluid will also behave like water. Antifreeze will be oily and smear, where washer fluid will work like Windex.
 
Rub some between your thumb and forefinger.Anti-freeze will feel oily for a long time.Washer fluid will dry out quick between your fingers.(alcohol) You can do the same thing to look for antifreeze in oil.Plain oil between your fingers will dry up a lot quicker than oil with anti-freeze in it.
 
Is anti freeze corrosive. dab some on a piece of metal and see what happens. Will anti freeze lift paint?
 
Dumm question - antifreeze has a very unique smell regardless of the color, right? Some are suggesting to taste it, should you not be able to smell the difference
between washer fluid and antifreeze?
