Turbo on a 574 International

Was thinking about this the other day, and I think it's possible, but I needed some second opinions. Could I put a turbo on my 1972 IH 574, and if so, how would I go about doing it? It has a 4-Cylinder IH D239 engine in it.

That is an easy one the td8 dozer has the d239 with turbo. I have a complete set up here. Takes
diffrent exhaust manifold diffrent intake hoses and oil line to the turbo and drain. Either find a
junk td8 e international dozer or buy my stuff. E-mail open

Is that one that needs the oil nozzles to squirt oil on the bottom of the piston for cooling? I know some models had them if turoed and if not they needed them added for that like the 806,856 and some others. I think this makes an excuse to buy another tractor bigger model like a 756or 856 or even move up to a 66 series.

Plenty of turbos were installed on 560's, 806's, 756's, 856's, 966's, and others, with no piston cooling jets added. Just slapped the turbo on, turn up the smoke screw a bit, and go. Folks really only had problems if they went crazy with adding fuel and abused the tractors.

Just adding a turbo will make the engine snappier and more fuel efficient, which may be enough to make you happy without touching the injector pump.
