Winter doldrums pick you up

Thank you. Very good, some people just take for granted or don't realize the hard work, dedication & heart it takes to do what a farmer does every day.

KD .... you're right, and that also applies to most other occupations as well which we all take for granted.

I have a shortened version of that hanging on my wall at home. I always enjoy listening to Paul Harvey speaking this. It kind of
puts a tear in your eye listening to it. Those words paint so many pictures in our lives, if only people realized how true this
really is! Thank you to everyone that contributes to agriculture and related professions. Kow Farmer Kurt

Well said.

One of my daughters gave me a copy years ago and I have it hanging on the wall right above my computer--I miss Paul Harvey--He used to come on the local radio station at 20 minutes to noon 5 days a week!--Stand By For News!---Tee

Amazing enough, as big of a Paul Harvey fan as I am, I never heard this before. Im not so sure he was talking about me but I know he was talking about my Dad. He passed away 40 years ago on
February 12. Some may have heard it.

Especially they guys on strike still collecting a pay check working their whopping 40 hour weeks when they do work and paid vacation and retirement

I didn't realize that guys on strike still collected their paychecks SV, never heard of that before. I assume you meant to include one or two commas in your sentence ..... see below including a typo error 'they to the' ....

Especially the guys on strike still collecting a pay check, working their whopping 40 hour weeks when they do work, and paid vacation and retirement

Correct, Crazy Horse! During my working career I was on strike a couple of times, no paycheck or unemployment, nothing! We found a moonlight job putting a roof on a new building.

Once for me too Russ, plus another time when the janitors were on strike and schools closed down. Both were short lived strikes. Funny thing with people's perceptions of other people's jobs .... they complain about the benefits yet have passed up on the opportunity to do the same thing if they wanted to. The grass is always greener so why not hop the fence ????
