Then find out you already had the part but not until you have the one you just bought already installed?

Sure have, just tell yourself you would have bought another to replace that one, if you had used it. That way it sounds like you had a plan, not forgot it was there. And I always put it right where I will remember right where it is for next time.

I usually buy parts when I don't have time to install them and then when the time comes to install them can't find them so have to go buy more of them.

Kind of like buying PVC fittings when you know you have the same thing in the shop somewhere but you just can't find them when you need them but you find them the next day!

I went to the grocery store today, boneless pork loins were on sale for $1.49 per pound. Better buy some freezer paper so I could cut it into some chops and roasts. I now have 4 boxes of freezer paper in the pantry.

Drip system parts are my issue. When I cant find them I buy more then find the others. They dont spoil so I now have 2 boxes of many fittings. Ill organize them when I get to CO. No gardening this year on either property due the move so no need to buy parts even next year unless I cant find the others. Ha!

I have 2 containers. One with cpvc and the other with pvc fittings. Fitting are cheaper than a trip to town.
Also have a few sticks of pvc and cpvc pipes of different sizes.

I also discovered putting my cans of cleaner and glue upside down in the fridge, they don't dry out years later..

I know exactly where my stuff is, unless someone hides them...

Cummins Ram starter? You'll need a spare, just put it next to the spare transmission you have to carry in the bed.

When we were having our house built, I could never find a tape measure.
So, I probably bought 6-8-10 over the construction period. One day my daughter
was with me in the hardware store, so I picked up another El-Cheapo just to have around.
Daughter says I know you just bought a tape the last time we were here.
Can I have all your double when you die???

I have been going thru my late 90 yo father's shop. He loved to work wood so he had a great shop. He was thrifty, and was always scrounging lumber from shipping crates etc. the shop was so full of that lumber you couldn't walk thru. I'm now going thru and finding tools that he bought, buried, and bought another when he had forgotten where the 1st one was. Its an adventure.

My trailer had a burned out LED light. I knew I saw one somewhere, but where. I mounted an external, round, two filament lamp on the side of the trailer frame. Yes, it would have been as fast to get the right one in town. Yesterday I found the one I need, behind my tool box. Maybe when it warms up on Tuesday, I will get at it.

Yes it is an adventure. My dad used to scrap stuff and save the fasteners. So he would start out with a coffee can of tools and put the used fasteners in the can to. When we were cleaning out his shop we were dumping out the cans and we started to find tools

I've done that many times. Either can't find it when I need it or it's something it scrapped last week after holding on to it for years.
Dave.

We do the same thing--HyVee had it at $1.47 and then it went to 1.97. Where is the cheap loin--Good cheap eating!--Thanks
