Had a large poplar tree cut down last spring. Finally took the time to work it up. Ain't great fire wood but it burns good.

Smaller chunk is sweet gum, terrible stuff. The poplar block is still 25-30 feet from the butt ... It's a huge old tree. Leafed out 2 springs ago and then died..... Not rotten, no bugs. Odd

GP,
How many times have you said, I wish I had a loader sooner??
Great back saver. You are having toooooo much fun.

If you look closely you will see I still do not have a loader tractor! Lol. I did get to unload some chain link fence materials yesterday morning.

Looks like your putting that new tractor to work, and thinking how did I get by with out a loader before.

Grandpa-when you're splitting you don't leave the splitter on the ground do you? I love the 3pt-I raise mine above waist high: no bending over, and the re-splits are caught on a table/cradle besides the wedge. I only lower to roll pieces onto the rail too big to lift. I made a handle to reach my 3pt control lever, so that I do not have to walk around the tractor- just reach over the back and raise or lower the splitter. Mark
