Been awhile since I helped put chains on, we had double ring, amazing they worked below the tire lug, now I
just use the 4wd tractor,

Hmmm,
From what little I can see of the rear lug
pattern it looks like a 4000 SU. But I
don't think they built the SUs till after
the 4/68 change in the tin/grill style.
Might be one of the tractors you built out
of pieces?
I like it. I like the chains too. Did you
build the plow set up too?
Nice package!

Was over 20 years ago I asked DAD if he had any secrets about putting chains on my #1 Snow Mover, the
FARMALL SUPER H. His responce, Don't take them off! The SH only has 12.4x38 tires, but the chains are
made from about 3 sets of chains for dualed-up 10.00x20 truck tires, a cross chain every other link, each
chain weighs around 200#, I can't lift them, I tie them to the wheel/tire and spin the tire. Last time I
mounted them only took me a half hour per chain. They bolt together with a small shackle. I've had Dad's
M here for 15 years, had his chains on it one year. It's amazing how helpless a tractor without chains
is on snow & ice. My driveway and parking area is concrete and slopes uphill to the road. Most times my
Wife's all wheel drive car gets to the road, as does my 4wd pickup. A tractor without chains WILL NOT
make it.

Some of the links are about half gone. The motor is from a diesel 4000 (the motor is a 67) and the trans and rear end is from a 66 gas 3000 with live pto. The snow plow setup came with the tractor when my grandfather got the tractor from a orchard in the 80's. The might have come from a jeep (I posted about the pump a bit ago). The hole came from one winter when my father was plowing and we just used u bolts to hold the cylinder. The plow pump barley turns the plow left and right and I've been using the remote on the tractor to lift the plow. I would like to change the plow setup to the 2910 or make a plow for the 6610.
