Super cool! But is that the engine air intake plumbed into the cab? It would make the cab a bit more drafty than it needs to be.

(quoted from post at 11:08:02 12/16/20) Super cool! But is that the engine air intake plumbed into the cab? It would make the cab a bit more drafty than it needs to be.

Ever had to deal with and air cleaner full of snow and/or increased carburetor icing?

Makes a little air drawn through the cab seem trivial.

Many old snowblowing outfits were set up like that.

I wonder if they wished if they had chosen a tractor with live PTO at times? Heavy wet snow can take some umph to blow at times.

We sold those blowers new still have one,, a W-9 would be the last on a list of tractors I would ever mount one on,, they steered horrible with out any weight on them,, clumsy things for two no live power, not sure but it should have had at least live hyd,, looks like it does the job for him though,, she is shined up,, and you use what you have,

That snow blower should still work pretty well in dry powdered snow, but in wet sticky snow it might plug an awful lot. Sixty years ago that might have been a pretty good setup.

Here is an 8-N with a real snow blower. Had an engine mounted on three point with drive shaft running under tractor. joe
Enjoy

Yep, and u don’t need chains on these tractors they are pretty well balanced and have good traction. Don’t need power steering going down a road or in the yard.

go buy it,, I am betting you or the others have never ran one with nothing on it let alone that 1000 lbs weight hanging out there,, and for the record I already Know you cant steer that pile sitting still with or without the blower but Yes love to see you buy it lol,,

(quoted from post at 22:05:29 01/23/22) I would like to try to track down a snowblower like this. Does anyone know the make and model?

More or less half the people here aren't seeing your post because they use classic view. Classic doesn't bring the whole post to the top; it only shows your post as a stand-alone reply which makes no sense since the post you tagged onto doesn't show.

To help you out here are the pictures, in John Deere D's December 16, 2020 post, of a snowblower he came across for sale.

I think it's a Schulte blower, made in Saskatchewan. Schulte is still in business but their new plows are quite a bit different. There were a lot of those old Schulte blowers back in the day. A lot of districts had snow plow clubs, a setup like that with a WD9 or similar kept the area roads open for many rural residents.

Here's an example of one that's for sale on kijiji right now:

Looks like it's been fixed up and painted in the current Schulte colours.
