OK all You Farmall guru's What makes a Farmall BN what it suggest ( narrow ) I see some for sale and it has the long left axle -- To Me thats not a BN - I have a BN and it has the short left axle . What am I missing ? Roy

well a B has long axles on both left and right side. BN has a shortened long axles on both left and right side. I assume you bought your bn as equipped. yours is what some folks did to mount belly mower and have wheels track narrower than mower. what you have IS NOT factory made!!! end of story!

B rear is 79 inches
BN rear is 71 inches

This according to info I found on the internet width dimensions.
I can measure my BN's axles if you need that.

It is not the axel it is the differental housing they are 4inches narrower than a B both side are the same the BN will measure 18inches and the B will measure 22 inches you do not have a BN if one side is longer than the other

Does it run and operate as it should? Will it do the job you want it to? Is it a good deal? If so buy it....... Who cares what interesting modifications have been done. I would love to know some of the stories behind some things I've seen on old tractors!

You can remove the final drive extension tube and bolt the final drive directly to the transmission case, then install an A short axle to narrow them up.
