. The can is almost full yet and there is no mention of the contents it might contain.

It looks like a list of ingredients near the bottom of the front in your first picture. Some research on those will give you an idea of what it is. Being old some of those ingredients may be banned or restricted use substances now.

Interesting this poultry spray. I found this on an ebay Ireland listing for $20. Looks like common poultry spray. Nice vintage can.

We had a new flock of broilers ever spring. We would keep some of those for layers into late fall, but never over winter. The chicks started under the brooder each spring and as soon as the brooder was raised and roosts were set we soaked or brushed them down with distillate as mom called it. Diesel fuel to help prevent the very pests listed on that Toxite can.

Hard to read on my iPad but it does show active ingredients front and lower part of can. Wingnut

looks like similar uses as the metal gallon can of Carbolineum I acquired a couple months ago. The farm where it came from had chickens and dairy cows. Account books showed it purchased in the 40s and 50s.

The label gives instructions for treating a mattress but it says not for human use. I will pass on using it in the house or on the mattress.
