New tractor

Been looking for a while now. Used are expensive and you don't know how they were treated. Finally pulled the trigger today. Went with Massey Ferguson. Not 100 percent sure I needed the backhoe, but price, and payments, were right! Had it home 15 minutes, and got it dirty! 28 degrees, wind whipping, every thing soggy wet, but still had to try it! I think we are going to like it.

I guess I still have 'yesterdays tractors' so I can stay! Lol

Dandy. It's good to see you didn't waste a lot of time getting a little dirt on it. lol. Enjoy, you earned it.

Well I have a 2007 and 2020 both bought new and am still here. I like the FEL brackets that current tractors have vs old Ford especially....none of my old Fords that I used ever had one.....I bought a 4 cyl 4000 with one and it lasted about as long as it took me to get home and get it off. Also having 4wd almost as standard equipment is a huge plus. My big tractor now is a 65 hp engine net with 4WD and I'm running the implements I used with my JD 4230, 2 wd. at 100 hp PTO rating.

Tree man friend of mine has a MF compact with loader, its given him good service.I've run it some helping him very capable for its size. They are light weight compared to older tractors so be careful using the loader until you get used to it.

I looked at mf when buying 3 year's ago but went with the JD. Reason being JD has a quick attach belly mower which I thought I might add some day. After using the fel the first time I had rears filled with fluid. Made twice the tractor out of it.

I have a John Deere 1025 the same size it's a fun little tractor great in tight spots. Use it with 4 foot brush hog handles it easy. My son has one just like yours works great for him also. Randy

That size is handy and will do more work than some folks think. Load the rear tires and keep maybe a 4 ft box blade on the back. Helps with stability.

GP. Nice commercial unit. A lil dirt will clean up good Plus Im sure itll get muddy out on location. You know- hate to tell you so but it wont be long before you will need to build you a first class storage shop with dedicated repair area. Heated and cooled. Like I always say- it only cost a lil more to go first class.Yeah right. Enjoy Ha ha. Wingnut

Looks like a real nice rig, Grandpa! I'm sure you were too busy with that new tractor to call...Still waiting, I want to send you something...

Very nice ! We have a local Agco/Massey dealer, a John Deere dealer, a Ford Dealer, a Cnh dealer, Kubota dealer, Mahindra and Ciote all within 25 or so miles. Seems like I see a lot of the Masseys around but more Kubotas. That little tractor will do a lot of work ! I would love to have something here with a loader ! We have an excavator and skid steer at the farm, but moving them isnt all that easy. Have a trailer for the skid steer , but not a trailer to move the excavator. I think youll be very happy ! Good for you guys ! Youll get your moneys worth Im sure !

Johnlobb, oppps yep. Sorta a last minute decision to buy today, weeks of research and jumped today. Will call tomorrow. Thanks for understanding.

Have to keep buying those Cubs and selling them to make the payments. Good job. Only money and you can't take it with you. At least I've never seen a U-Haul truck behind a hearse.

That is true but I see in obituaries a lot that the family asks for contributions to help pay funeral expenses instead of sending flowers,I'd sure hate for my family to have to do that.

You will find 100s of uses for the new toy! I bought a similar 23S Kubota last spring and it has become my 3rd arm. Takes 5 minutes to remove the loader and backhoe, 5 more to install the 60 deck and go mow the lawn.

I bought a Massey like yours in October and I have 100 hrs on it and love it. I told my wife I liked the looks of the tractor and she said buy it and quit working on tractors and start using one. Like you I got the back hoe and loader. I had the dealer put a CID grabble bucket on it. If you have a lot of trees like me then a Gabble is nice. I hade a lot of thorn trees two to twelve feet tall. I took out 36 of them. Dug out by the roots and picked them up with the gabble and put on burn pile. I told my wife look dear no blood on me and the thorns are gone. For the same money I could have bought a john Deere with out a back hoe and a gabble bucket

GP,
You will find the backhoe is more useful than the loader.
I like the fact you use the same seat when using the hoe.
I bet your CPA can write this investment off your taxes.
Claim you need to clear land when you build fences and level dirt for decks.

Happy for you, you decided to pull the trigger.

You can still have your cub rescue center! Saving one cub at a time...

One thing about new equipment- all those hours of operation without any down-time gives you even more spare time to work on your older stuff!

Congrats on the tractor and going with a Massey.

Does that have a quick attach bucket on it ? If so I would look into some pallet forks for it.
I had a few of those small units in the past. Very handy and will do a lot more than you think. Way more useful then an older tractor. But I was always needing more lift height or more backhoe reach. I moved up to a larger 40HP tractor and loader. Still small enough to maneuver but when it is wet it ruts things up .

My 4 ft titan pallet forks
cvphoto114761.jpg

may weigh more than his little tractor can lift.

If GP wants, I'll show him how to make his own forks.

I'm sure there are some made sized correctly for that machine. His may even accept stand forks for a small bobcat ? Forks will give you more lift height as you can get under something instead of having to go over it and lift with chains and such. Those have such limit lift height as it is.

Congratulations on the new tractor. I bet you will get a lot of use from it. Most of us on here have a mix of old and newer tractors/equipment .

Congratulations on you new tractor. When I was young, I could dig by hand all day with a shovel. But now I don't even think of using a shovel. I just get on the backhoe. You will find it very useful and wonder what took you so long to get one. But be very careful, these little backhoes are limited to what they can do and may cause you to have a relapse of tractor fever. The only know cure it to acquire a bigger backhoe.

whoa there,
I thought I could be on the list before you, I guess it would be better
to start in La, then come on up to Missouri, to the west side. Stop by
SW1206 first, then come to Henry county, you can fish for Crappie while I
dig water lines, ha,

nice buy, and you know Massey is giving Jd a run for the global pie.
super pic. GG

My titan forks are

for Bobcats. Everything except a JD.

I can't find my exact forks.
Forks to mine weigh around 400# shipping weight.
Mine was shipped banded to a 4x4 pallet..
So titan forks will be a lot for his loader to lift.
