Could also be in the painters union.

I have known a few graduates. One guy I knew most of my life was a talented taper and painter could work for about anyone. Alcohol poisoning killed him one night.

Some of the best car painters/pin stripers/letterings fit right in that group. I have known of quite a few over the years. Sadly, all of them are just a memory now.

When we built our house I hired a guy that built garages because he had the contractor's license. He had 2 employees that would show up for a few days until they were paid. Then when they did not show up on Monday and Tuesday, John would go down to the county jail, find them, and bail them out, repeat.

Years ago, that could have been concrete finishers around here.
In the winter, they would bring a heater to sit around waiting on the concrete to get ready to finish and would keep turning a bottle up for a drink.
They always got the job done though.

By the time I was ten I knew the procedure to bond someone out of jail. I would ride with grandmother when see went to get some member of the logging crew out of jail on Monday. She would bail them out and take them to the job site. If they where lucky their wife would have dropped off a lunch otherwise the other crew members would share a little. She liked to take me for company and because if we got close I could hear the saws running and point her in the correct direction. Never pay cash bail for someone else just pay the bondsman fee. Cash bail can be used to pay fines ands restitution.
