Deka Battery

Got a six volt from Family Farm . It ok , not as many of CCA as the duralast, but it starts C fine at 20 bucks less , my choice. ,I bought it. Dont use the C that much , show and pulls .
I got a good deal at Menards on a group 24 AC Delco 12 volt saved 60 bucks !

Like everything else, battery prices up here have really jumped up, haven't bought one for a while. If yours was a 6 volt, what did your 'decent price' amount to?

i had a pair of group 31 in the 3394 that lasted 13 years a group 24 in the 504 went 10 years and a group 24 in the bobcat 11 years.

I have a 2006 Kubota BX-24 with the original Deka battery in it still. My neighbor also has the original Deka in his larger Kubota. Good Batteries.. I'll buy another one

I think batteries last longer in MN because it doesn't get so hot, I've had pretty good luck with most brands. the best was a JD Strongbox, lasted over 12 years. If it's convenient I might buy replacements at Costco, Interstate, and most are under $90.

I bought a deka 1140 amp last week for skid steer we will see!

They are good batteries. Probably have had this best luck with the Deka brand than any other. We have several now that are 7 plus yrs old and still starting everything very well year round. None have any kind of maintainers on them either.

Ive had really good luck with Deka as well and i do wonder about them being at Lowe's. RARELY do they sell the top of the line stuff. might be a name brand but they will squeeze a 1/2 penny out of a supplier if they can. I heard Sears used to squeeze Frigidaire for a 1/2 penny on a whole fridge and that was 20 years ago.

I've had good luck with them from the local auto supply. Same thing from the big box store? So many large buyers can buy enough to demand a lower quality product, which might look, and be labeled the same as a regular product.

We sold them at the tire shop. They had good batteries and cheap batteries. WE sold a lot of them to car dealers, they wanted cheap,so we so we sold cheap, industrial customers wanted good.

Biggest issue with buying batteries from a big box store like Lowes is to be certain you get a battery that is relatively fresh/new. I doubt they maintain or rotate their inventory like a dedicated battery distributor might. I have bought batteries from Home Depot. Just check the manufacture date on the battery. You might be amazed by the variation in their inventory.

I've had Deka's in trucks with no debilitating problems. Lasted as long as the rest about 5-7 years in the old mechanical truck and about 3-5 on the electronic engine truck.

I have used Deka on tractors and sawmill engine for years. They are about as good as any other brand. Just bought one last week for a tractor.

The Lowes around me don't stock many batteries. Their website shows delivery in two or three weeks. That makes it difficult to check the dates before you buy.
