Finally put a heater in the shop update

Thought I would give an update on how this heater is working out. This is a 25000 btu electric heater I posted about a few days ago. Its 17 degrees F out side this morning Ive had the heater running about 30 minutes and it shows 52 degrees inside the shop. I dont think thats too bad for an uninsulated shop. I do have an insulated door and dual pane windows so that helps. If I ever do insulate this space it will be down right toasty in here! I guess now that I have it warmed up in here I have to get to work replacing the brakes on the wifes car!

A little time and some more money spent will well be worth your while . Just a couple years ago we helped a friend insulate his 30x40 x12 . Cost wise it cost him the button head nails as many years back while he was in the HOT SHORT trucking he hauled insulation from a local company and one day while picking up a load the plant manager asked him if he would like a full 48 foot long trailer load of seconds free if he would haul it away Free . So Sid invested a 1/4 tank of fuel a 12 pack of beer for the FRIENDS that helped unload and put it in his father in laws barn where it sat since back in the 80's . This stuff was 1 1/2 inch thick stuff in PINK . It fit nicely up against the steel between the wood we then took full sheets and placed over that so the walls are 3 inches thick IN PINK and 3 inches on the ceiling . even when the temp stick drops down below the 0 mark It is short sleeves and shorts inside , I had car problems the one weekend and it was down to -18 out side , Not a day ya needed problems with a car , armed with a 12 pack and parts i limped the car down there dressed in full artic carharts Sid had the home fires burning well in the 20 min. it took for me to get there . It was 75 inside . Luckly the repairs were only a two beer flat rate job ( he and i base flat rate hours on beer ) That insulation job of that building took us two sundays to do .
