It's good you were not standing there. 40 years ago or so I put new steel on the roof of the barn. It had a long slope, 32 feet from the peak if I remember right. After the first snow I came out of a walk in door in that barn and slammed the door shut since the latch wasn't so good. Suddenly there was a strange new hissing sound I had never heard so I paused to listen to it. You guessed it, WHOOMPH. I was buried in snow. Snow would drift just over the peak of the roof and hang up there awhile before it slid down. I never forgot that lesson. The hogs on the feed floor by the barn didn't forget either. Every time they heard that hiss they ran away from the barn as fast as their legs would carry them.

grizzo2 i was across snoqualmie Wed. of last week. Look like all the building's in your area had well insulated roofs. Was sitting on the west side of White pass when it got closed Wed. night. RB
