The original subject was Re: JD B transmission oil and how to flush.

Is there a plug to check oil level in rear end of JD B or do you just add 4 1/2 gal
or do you fill oil in fill plug until oil comes out

Deere recommended flushing by filling with diesel, jacking up the rear wheels, and running in place for a while, then draining. I did flush one a couple of years ago by filling with diesel, and then I drove it around the yard a bit. I then drained it, and refilled with new oil.

I've also done as Coonie Minnie suggested--put in some diesel fuel and drive it around a bit.

And yes, the fill plug is also the oil level plug. Fill it till it runs out.
