Wife always says what a person does on New Years Day is what they'll do the rest of the year.Hope she is right went and bought a tractor today.David Brown 780 fixer upper

Played about two hours of pickle ball. Then took a short nap. Fixed a burger on the grill. Then played nine holes of golf. Not a bad way to spend the first day of the new year. Gerald

TF, I hope your wife is wrong. I spent half the day cleaning out a blocked sewer line. Our local plumber had a doctor appointment and couldn't help us out so I rented a roto rooter and my brother and I tackled the job ourselves. Two old farts that smelled the part when we got done. I know why plumbers charge an arm and a leg. Spent the rest of the day eating pizza and watching football on TV and tractor videos on you tube. The day definitely ended better than it started. ADB

did chores ,shoveled 8 inches of snow off house roof. cleaned up paths. plugged 560 in then found out the circulating heater burnt out, was going to make chop tomorrow. found another heater to put in tomorrow. a little cleaning up. back out to cows and stoked up the fire. took a winter picture of the snow we had. now in house.

We always put all the Christmas decorations away today. Relaxed a bit and went out with the in-laws for dinner before they return to Florida on Wednesday. My oldest son leaves for college tomorrow for the spring semester. Has been nice having him at home.

I worked on my new house I'm building, and I'll be working on that for the next year. Then I just ate some dead cow,and I am going to watch Hopalong Cassidy for a while.I do tend to rattle the walls with the radio if I'm working by myself,so I have fun.

I hope so, partially. My son and 2 grandsons are using my open barn space to prep and paint (with spray bed liner) a replacement truck box for his older F450 4x4. I spent the afternoon doing some sorting and cleaning in my shop area. WOW! Found some stuff I had forgotten about.

Moved machinery around to put some things away for the season and to get other machines and projects ready for what comes next. This was after getting up late because- some idiot set off a bunch of explosions at 11:30 last night. We all woke up, and the dog went nuts. I got back to sleep somewhere between 2:30 and 3.

went to son's place and helped hang sheet rock in his remodel. Shure glad to see the sheet rock lift setting in there.

EARLY, before the snow began, I sneaked a nice used pair of Firestone 9-24 rears over to the neighbor's shed with a Christmas bow around them.
A good 'ol boy.... he needs/deserves them- a late Christmas present.

I hope not I put the clutch back in a ford ranger. I have another clutch to do on a Jeep I hope and pray that's the last clutch job I do in my life...

The real reason I worked today.

I had the skylights took out of my big shop Friday I need all bays free Monday morning for them to get to the underside and tape up the insulation.

Replaced a starter ring gear and clutch in a Deere 2510 gas for a customer. My two sons and the two grandsons were here for the afternoon. Fed and bedded cows. Bought an overhead door to be picked up monday. Tom

Pulled a vehicle out of the garage to put a charger on it. Replaced a fuse in my son's car. Babysat the little girl and put her to bed while Grandma slept on the couch. Snuck out and came home.

I looked forward to spring. 2021 was not everything I wanted in terms of business but I can think of making a few modest purchases for 2022. The wife and I also went to Lowe's to look at new washing machines.

Took down the Christmas tree, ate some shrimp, had a little Woodfords Double Oaked, and cleaned a truck up.

ate leftovers called Sue B three times watched it snow ate peach pie for Tall Kid's 37 th birthday much better day than when he was born. watched foot ball games

I went for a motorcycle ride with a couple OLD friends of mine. We do this every new years day. Split a few logs enough for a few days of wood. Next years wood is already split and stacked. No more just enough for a few days. Stan

Hope not, drove a little over 900 miles home from visiting family for the holidays!! Don't mind driving but that's a little too long to do on a regular basis!!

This New Years Day was very mild, and our snow had pretty well all melted off, so I took the opportunity to spread manure all afternoon. Case 930 on the spreader as usual, and loaded with this Kubota.

Took this picture at 4:30 pm, sun never made a showing all day, but I knocked off because I knew it would be dark by the time I drove the 5 miles back to the home farm. Ham and Scalloped potatoes for supper.

Yesterday was rainy and nasty out.
So I spent the afternoon at the computer.
Today, I'm taking my spreadsheet to my CPA.
He can get started on my taxes and wait for my 1099's.

I'm getting an itch to catch fish in Florida.
I didn't go fishing last year. All the fish were wearing masks.

Cleaned out the fireplace in the den and the stove in the cat cave.

Brought in several loads of firewood for the overnight cold snap.

Filled the heated water bowls for the outside dogs.

Filled all the dog food bowls in the shop.

Brought in an orange tree and lemon tree plant from the front porch.

Nothing exciting just routine duties.

Ate my annual Black Eye Peas. A family tradition I haven't missed as long as I can remember and that's quite a ways back. My mamma told me when I was just a youngster if you eat your peas on NYD you will have them all year long. What she meant was that you would have money to buy what you needed all year long. Well she was right on both counts.

I guess I will watch football all year been to active on the leg I had repair done on decided to take it easy yesterday so I can get the drainage down so I can get the drain tube removed this week
