Is that JD a slant Steer? Is it a 4 speed or 5 speed with the LPTO? If the slant steer with 5 speed and LPTO then the Deere is more valuble than the Ford especialy with collectors as they are a rare tractor. I myself would love to have a slant steer 420 with the 5 speed and LPTO but will never happen.

My grandfather bought a Ford 4000 just like that brand new. Was the last thing sold off the farm many years after he was done farming. Only difference was his had the pie rear weights. Good tractor ! Good for both of you !

Watch out!! They like to multiply like cubs sometimes!! One of the better tractors that ford made back in the day in my opinion. The one with the factory bumper my dad bought new and the SOS has never been touched. The other two I found on fakebook and rescued. I swapped the loader that was on my dad's tractor over to the middle one as it has power steering, makes it a lot easier to move snow. My shoulders weren't enjoying the lack of power steering anymore as I've gotten older!!

What are the orange straps rated at as in pound?? I have some that look just like those and there rated at 400lbs MAX which is no where near what is needed for that tractor

But when the grass is green he would be looking for the Deere as it will be hiding not wanting to work. Ford ready to work. Doesn't Grayrider run a retirement home for tractors?

I carry a CDL and was taught if you haul something that weighs in at 5000LBS you use straps/chains good for 7500lbs no ifs and or buts about it
