You are right. HOAs would have a fit.
If you parked that anyplace I my country next to house and let a homeless person move in. Area planning would send you notice.
You live in R1. Residential one family
only. Homeless would become homeless again.
That actually happened in Terre Haute. No fancy neighborhood. All over the country.

Most people don't consider we are only a hundred years removed from people living in sod houses.
Heck we got guys on this site that can remember wearing feed sacks for cloths.
You could go to El Paso today and look across the border and wonder how people could live in such houses.
 
Less years than that. A half mile from my folks was a soddy that was lived in until about 1991
