As someone in that age group, I agree. Always glad I was born then, but man, the time has sure flown by. I appreciate modern conveniences, but would not trade the memories for anything.

The funniest guys were Red Skelton and Bob Hope both born before the 40's bar none.

Actually, Bob Hope made quite many political jokes, as did Johnny Carson. Both of these men did so with class and made everyone on both sides laugh.

my dad is right there with you, born in 1933. The world that he has seen change is amazing but he is not old yet either, he still drives, and farms and welds and wrenches.

dad talks about the clean comedians that he loved years ago such as Edgar Bergen, Ed Win, Red Skelton and Buster Keaton

dad remembers wwII with the gas rationing stickers on the car windows. dad remembers where he was and what was going on when he learned of JFK, and 9-11

dad happily takes out shims of rod and main bearings of the case tractors. No reason to throw parts away he says, they just need a little adjustment now and then. On engine with insert rod and main bearings, dad sometimes adds tapered shim stock behind the insert. Why tapered you might ask? well because the middle of insert wears more then the ends usually, so tapered shim stock regains your correct oil clearance. and don't laugh to hard, it has been working for him for over half a century and counting.

dad might be 88, and he might have seen the whole world change around him, but he ain t old yet
