Yesterday I attended the Karl Lehman estate auction held 12 miles from me at the NW edge of Nevada,MO....Mr Lehman had ran a vehicle repair business for over 50 years....He was also well known on the local circle track as he was a former racer..It was a nice sunny day with temps in the low 50's...Most of the stuff on this sale was well used....The highlight of the sale for me was the Mennonite ladies selling pie for $1.50 per slice....Pay no attention to the date stamped on these pictures as its a cheap eBay camera that I cant change the date on.
Tract 1 was 38 acres and it sold for $178,000...
Tract 2 was 29.25 acres and it sold for $113,500...
They then combined both tracts as they joined each other...The bidding for both tracts started at $291,500 and went crazy....It finally sold for $386,500 plus 5% bidders premium...This may seem cheap to some of you but it was quite a price for this area...The crowd was sure buzzing..The tracts were located about 1 mile NW of town.
Tract 3 was 6.5 acres located at the SE edge of town....It sold for $51,000 plus 5%...It was once the 6 Acre Salvage Yard...Its totally overgrown..
Tract 4 was 78.7 acres located about 20 miles SE of town in the Bellamy,MO area...It sold for $310,000 plus 5%....Just to show how crazy things are just 3 years ago I went to a farm sale about 2 miles south of this farm...They tried to sell 320 acres all tillable with house, grain bins,buildings...The opening bid was $2,500 per acre and no one even bid..A friend farms in this area and said the ground is poor and its in an area that seems to miss lots of the rain when you need it the most...
There had been 4 tractors on this place but they had been sold ahead of the sale...Two of them were still on the farm and they tried to sell both of them...The 350 IH was a no sale at $950.
The 65 Massey diesel was a no sale at $1,900.
The Infinity Power Chute Plane sold for $5,900..I took this picture just before this plane got damaged..It was some how started up at full throttle and immediately went forward hitting a parked SUV..It didnt hurt the SUV but wadded up the front wheel on the plane..It could have been disastrous .....I was about 100 ft away eating when this happened and it was scary!!
The Chevy 4x4 with bale bed sold for $900...It hadn't ran in years.
The long gooseneck cattle trailer with no title sold for $900...The shorter cattle trailer to the left sold for an unreal $3,000.
The old non running Willys sold for $1,900...It had an open title from 1958..The late title fee could be quite high..
The running 1970 Chevy wrecker sold for an unreal $3,900..It was said that a friend wanted it to remember Karl..
The non running welding unit and trailer sold for $525.
I'll be back with 10 more pictures..
