Tire paint or coatings

Is there a paint or coating the can be applied to tires on an outdoor static display to slow down the rot? We plan to build custom jack stands to take the weight off the tires, but still exposed to the elements. Any experience with static displays? Thanks.

I do know there is a black tire paint for looks. I do not know if
it helps with slowing down deterioration and I'm sure if it did,
it would need to be reapplied every so often.

Black shoe polish.Burt Munroe put 'boot black'on the tires of his 1920 Indian motorcycle to fill the cracks. It was good enough for the speed trials at Bonneville Speedway.

The wife painted some old tires that she uses for planters. I cut the top sidewall out. She painted inside and out over 2 years ago and they have been moved and thrown around a bit, yet are still holding their color as if just painted.

It was Rust-Oleum American Accents 2X Ultra Cover. Not sure if they still sell that exact paint, but look for Rust-Oleum with paint + primer.

I'm thinking anything would help block the UV. Be better than nothing.

For yard art, all that matters is the looks. The tires are probably already unusable, or soon will be. Nothing to lose by slathering on some paint! Repeat as needed.

There used to be a product for that called Blackjack. It had glycerin in it,and was meant to keep the oils from being bleached out
by the sun.It used to leave the tires shiny, and they would stay that way for quite some time.I used it on some whitewalls that
somebody had used too much bleach-white on,and they had sucked the oil out of the tires. After using the Blackjack the tires went
from feeling like sandpaper to smooth again.I have no idea if it is still available, and if it is,if it still has the same
ingredients.

If you don't plan on using tires for road use.

Tires are made from oil, so give a coat of oil.

I would take a paint brush and apply used motor oil.

Before I spray paint rims, I apply a coat of used oil to tire so paint won't stick to the tire.
Then use diesel fuel to remove paint and oil.
Tires will soak up oil like a sponge.

Used oil gets my approval, it's FREE

For a static display, an opaque paint should block UV rays much better than a transparent coating.

Do yourself and your tire man a big favor, forget those slick greasy coatings and build a roof over your display. Customers won't be getting covered with oil from your display.

This tire has been in the ground for 30 years. The tire was painted shortly after installed and once again about 12 years ago. No rot what so ever on the tire. Paint was an oil base.
