Anyone have and use the Benjamin 392s pump .22 pellet rifle? Good, bad, ugly? My wife wants one to take squirrels

I don't have the Benjamin. I do have a Crossman where you have to bend barrel down to cock and load. It is pretty stiff to cock. I have used it on rock chucks with success so I suppose would work well on squirels

Its a very good gun for the money. Best to mount a scope on it, the iron sights are its weak point. Scope should be of decent quality to hold zero with all the pumping and firing. It does take a little arm strength to pump.

rrman61. I have that exact air rifle. Maybe 30 years old. 3 pumps will stop a squirrel in its tracks. Wingnut

Back when I was around 9 I wore out a Crossman's 22 cal pellet rifle. It would put pellet right threw an inch thick board and keep going as in probably could kill a man

I have a Webley Scott .177 with scope. It hold nickel size pattern at 50 feet. Check UK and German rifles for some ideas Jim

It's a good gun, fairly accurate as long as you don't stretch it out very far. Decent build quality for the price. If you want a pellet rifle because of noise, there are several that have integrated suppressors too.

I'm not trying to change your mind, but I got tired of my pellet rifles, the pumping, lack of range and somewhat inconsistent accuracy. A .22lr shooting subsonic is close to the noise of most pellet guns maybe quieter than many. A .22lr with a suppressor is a lot quieter than any bb or pellet gun. .22lr is much more powerful, accurate and longer range.

My boy has a single shot pellet rifle that uses a spring instead of compressed air.
It will put a dent in a quarter.
He has a scope on it.
I don't remember the name of the rifle.
He bought it as a kid with his lawn mowing money.
It wasn't cheap.
Last forever. My boy is 42.
Very accurate and very powerful.

I have never owned a Benjamin rifle but a close childhood friend of mine had a Benjamin pneumatic pistol. It was a great air pistol.

This my old Benjamin single shot 22 pellet air rifle. Had it over 60 years, wasn't new when I got it for birthday. Iron sights, still very accurate, a lot of velocity depending on number of pumps you give it. Just keep it clean and don't leave it pumped up after use. Very well made little rifle.

Thanks for all the good advice;she ended up buying a Rossi .22 lever action.it shoots short, long or long rifle.I found some cci quiet 22 for close in squirrels.she really didnt like the pellet guns

But, but, but: don't you want an Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time????

Dianna makes high powered pellet rifles in 117,22 and 25.
Recommend the 22 with the charging lever under the barrel instead of using the barrel to pump .
My kid was charging his and let the barrel slip out of his hands when he had it almost charged .
Barrel flipped back and bent when it hit the stop .
Power similar to a 22 short , low cost to shoot and impressive accuracy .
