37 chiefs, Auction site equipment ??

I had a look at 37chiefs suggested site[ ironplanet] and see two new Holland tractors from California, being parted out/sold..my question is about the ROPS that runs from back to front.
That design is not seen locally, so is that a California ruling? a specialized farming operation requirement? just an available option?
Anything close to that design here is called a forestry package on the imports from Norway/Sweden, Denmark areas.
Just a curious start to the day.
 
well i got to thinking and i assume its for overhanging limbs to ride up and over the front window/cab going down the row,like mowing under tree limbs? Not as heavy built as a forestry package, but sure it serves it purpose, curiosity solved.
keep the sticks on the ice.
 
I have seen several government tractors like that. We had a 656 hydro foot operated that had one(yellow paint under the red.)
