Remove decal truck door

They make different levels of decal removers that go in an electric drill. They work slick even for an inexperienced old guy like myself. As the saying goes Try it; you'll like it.

(quoted from post at 09:06:03 12/01/21) Use the heat gun and an old credit card or other PLASTIC scraper.

They actually sell "plastic razor blades" just for this purpose.

Get the wheel others have mentioned, I remove 30+ decals from our work vehicles some have been on for 30 years. I never have seen one taken off with a blade that wasn't gouged a time or two. And the eheel take the glue off with the decal where the heat gun have left it on for us at times.

(quoted from post at 08:48:45 12/01/21) Anybody remove decal from truck door without harming paint. I have heat gun and razor blade

Two of the best ways to ruin paint. Burn it with the heat gun and scratch it with the razor blade...

A plastic scraper will still leave adhesive residue. There will be an outline of the decal visible on the door no matter how much you scrape and wash.

The eraser wheel is the best way to remove the decal AND the adhesive residue.

Start easy going. Soap and water. Detergent and water, wipe down and see if it releases. Low heat, check with knife to see if it releases on an edge. Be patient. Too much solvent and heat can ruin your day.

Moonlite37,
NO RAZOR BLADE! If you have never done it before, I would caution you on applying too much heat. Use some heat first to soften the decal. Then the only thing that will come off is the decal. Ten use some goo gone for the glue. Plastic razor blade will work once the glue is softened, A cotton cloth will do the same thing

X 3 I have done it like this. Even after everything is off you can still make out what you took off as the paint is slightly different where the decal was.

Decal remover is sold about anywhere that sells automotive paint ,and places that do sign printing. Spray can,and some decals come right off with a soaking of WD-40 or whatever brand you have on hand.

use a rubber wheel that is made for removing decals, just need to watch speed if I remember right as they had a limit. I have used to removed decals and pin striping. like another said a place that sells paint should have one.
good luck!

Heat Gun and a 1 inch putty knife. Then I use D-Limonene, an orange smelling solvent on the glue. Scrub the solvent and glue with a stiff brush and wash away with soapy water.
