Neighbor went to town after dealers were closed looking to obtain 50 roller chain. He went to Tractor Supply thinking that was the obvious choice. No! He went to NAPA (which I wouldn't have thought of) and they had a good selection!

Some Napa have quite a bit of farm stuff and they have access to a whole bunch of stuff if you can get someone with enough gumption to look it up

I guess they stock what sells in different areas.

Tractor supply, no way, they would have no idea what roller chain is, designer jeans, lawn mowers, horse blankets, yes, but hardware... Lucky if they have a plastic bag of wood screws!

Same with the chain store auto supplies, if you can't give them the make, model, and year, car and light truck parts only! Otherwise, it's air fresheners and fuzzy dice!

Only place to get roller chain here is at the bearing supply, 10ft rolls only!

Tractor supply here has quite a few tractor parts pto parts and hitch parts and hydraulic hose hydraulic fittings and roller chain . Clothes might be ok for a out of work homeless man . As much hardware as anybody has

For basic stuff The Local Farm and home store has some things and TSC has about the same thing only less of some and more of other. Local parts house run by the owner has more and lots of it. Might not have the roller chain though the one farm store does.

I doubt my local NAPA would have roller chain. Since it changed locations and presumably ownership it seems like it is a truck accessory store. I guess that I will not know until I ask. TSC looks like it recently downsized their PTO and chain offerings. Feed, oil, cheap hardware, and cheaply made clothing are the main lines. The local work clothes store recently closed off to walk in traffic. I kind of wondered when that was going to happen given the comments by the owner when I was last there. It's near impossible to compete with online when your weekly order to your supplier is a couple of 3 cu ft boxes.
