Case 830CK part 3 up and running!

The ignition parts I ordered from John Saeli arrived Friday afternoon so I went to work getting the Case running again. I took the advice you guys gave me and replaced one component at a time starting with the points. After installing them the tractor started right up confirming they were the main issue. It still had a miss which i found was at cylinder 2. I put the new plugs in and still had the miss so I went ahead and made up the new wires and put on the new cap and rotor. That solved the issue, starts up and runs smooth now.

Here are some pictures of the parts I replaced.

I said before that I have owned this tractor 10 years. My friend I bought the loader from reminded me its been almost 20 years! Time flys! So I can confirm none of this has been touched for 20 years and I would say its a safe bet its really 30! Id say thats some pretty good reliability. Another project marked off the list. Thanks for your help and advise!

Nice looking tractor. Only problem with those old cases and gas engines was they would pass everything but the fuel tank. Ours started out using 60 gallon a day and not even plowing. It got weaned back to 30 a day. This was back in the late 60's when gas was cheap compared to today.

Thanks. This one is like yours was, it loves gas! It only gets used to maintain our driveway and whatever loader work we have around here so I dont notice the fuel consumption that much. But I do always check the fuel gauge before I get going!
