Just bought a used Plazcut for $250. Iknow its old, but was told it worked when put away about 5 years ago. got home, plugged it in and hooked up air, turned it on and flipped up the ready switch, ready light on. Pressed the torch trigger and nothing. i took apart the connector at the machine and found someonne had wired pins d & e together. The torch is a Plazcraft30 II. took apart the torch and the switch is good, but no continuity between the twin wire cable where it goes into the machine. I cut the wire there and shorted the wires coming from the machine together. Then the air started flowing and the torch started working. wheni put it all baxk together the torch still doesnt activate the plazcut. In the torch there are some wires that go into the big threaded part of the torch before completing the circuit when the switch is pressed, but im getting no continuity through that part. anyone have an idea to get me going or a work-around to let me use my new toy?

You are on the right track. Putting continuity from the handle trigger all the way through the lead to the connection in the Power supply will do it. If the
switch is bad, a replacement switch, or a new handle might be needed. Jim

Have you been able to get the "torch" apart to access the switch and connections?

Some time ago I repaired a similar unit for a friend, there were flat push-on connectors at the switch and one had worked off of the terminal. SIMPLE fix.

Otherwise, perhaps a wire is broken inside the torch "cable" that contains a number of wires, probably a ground "braid" and the air line.

As I'm sure you know, BE CAREFUL, those things make some serious DC voltage, likely "open circuit" voltage is 300 - 400 Volts.
