built it one piece at a time and it splits one piece at a time. not finished on it yet, but it will do the job. running it off the charlyn pump and it does what i expected. had to tear the pump apart and clean the screen inside as it was starving for oil. now i want to mount a buzz saw in the front. park in the bush and fall the trees bring them in and cut them up on the buzz saw and at the same time can split them. but ya takes people power. maybe can have a wood party.

Dad and I always used a small buzz saw on fence post size wood, it was pretty fast and eliminated lots of bending over. Nothing to do with firewood is safe by today's standards.

Yes it is it can be moved back 2 inches. All I need to do is drill
another hole for another 2 inches if I need to.

Thanks. I still want to put some adjustable legs in the middle
on each side just to stabilize it. Plus put another gusset brace
on the bottom. Tidy up the hoses and make some sort of
wood catcher so dont have to bend down to pick it off the
ground.

If your buzzsaw is slower than a chain saw then you need to get a file out and go to work on the blade. A sharp buzz saw with enough power on the belt will cut slab wood and rounds smaller than 8 or so as fast as it it can be slammed through it. I set up an elevator beside mine and work my two sons pretty hard handing me wood. Dangerous? probably but then so is a chainsaw.

Curious as to why you put the business end right at the tractor? Personally I would have reversed it.

that is because i have the hyd. lever at the back of the tractor and this way dont need to add another hyd. control. it is handy and works
good like this.

Well, as long as you're happy it doesn't matter. Looks awkward to me though.
