I got these in a box at a farm auction. They are about sixteen inches long with a hook at the end. I was thinking maybe to cut tobacco leaves but really don't know. Would appreciate if someone could identify.....Thanks.

They might have other names or uses but I'm familiar with calling those a sugar beet Machete

You are correct...I just researched the sugarbeet machete and there are few types, and this is one of them. Thanks. There was never any tobacco near this farm but
who knows where people get stuff.

Beet knives. From the old days before mechanical harvesters, when you ran through a field with a beet lifter then walked and picked them up with the prong and hacked off the top and threw them on the wagon.
