Moisture on combine windows

Combined some corn late this afternoon and early evening. JD 9550, central Iowa, outdoor temps in mid 30s. The cab warmed up to a comfortable temperature but the inside of the windows were mostly fogged over. I always run the climatrak with the Air conditioner turned on and the fan on the auto speed. Anyone have an idea why the windows wanted to fog up so much? Should I have set the fan speed higher to circulate more air? Turned the thermostat higher to run the cab warmer? Could problem be dirty air filter? Thanks.

Ive had that problem I think its just moisture in the air ducts . The only way to keep it from doing it was to run the Ac and very slowly turn the heat up

If you are running the heater, then you have a coolant leak in the heater core.Do you smell antifreeze?

Is the filter clean?

Are BOTH fan motors (the pressurizer AND the circulation blower) operating?

If the pressurizer fan isn't working and bringing in outside air moisture from YOU may be building up in the cab.

Why run the air conditioner in cool weather ? Just a fan and warm air blowing would get the fog gone.

I know you can't do it on newer combines but on the 7720 I would run heat and ac at same time for awhile. I think running the ac for awhile would pull moisture out.

Along with what the others said you should also check the drain for the airbox where the evaporator is located they plug with dirt and send moisture through the ducts. Just had a similar issue on a 8430 tractor

Because the AC dehumidifies the air. Humidity is what is causing the fog.

Your car/truck AC runs with the defroster setting for just that reason.

Simple solution--Take the cab off!!

I ran most of my beans with the 7720 and the dust was bad in the cab, I would hate to have no cab.

Think about it. To defrost car/truck window you need to blow warm air on glass.

Usually defrosters also turn AC on to remove moisture too.

Windows in your house will fog up when glass temp is below dew point.

Turn your air vents to put warm air on glass.

Or add a 12v fan to blow air in glass.

Warm up the glass.

Another solution is stop breathing. In winter when you breath, you discharge moisture.

Don't think you can hold your breath and combine .

well i know my truck does not have the A/C running in the winter unless i turn it on. and yes you have to go through the defroster or else
the windows for up. when u direct the heat to the floor the windows fog up. open the hood and you will not see the compressor turning , or
get someone to turn it on and you will then see the clutch kick it. there was defrost settings out way before a/c came out.

Then you must have an ancient truck. Vehicles have run the AC with the defroster for at least a couple of decades.

Foggy windows is a classic sign of a
seeping/leaking heater core. Is there a trace smell of antifreeze? Are windows filmy/greasy if you try to wipe it off?
It cold be plugged filters, plugged drain hole someplace. But bad heater core would be my first thought.

You might have a puddle of water in the lowest passages of the air delivery system somewhere.

You could also install inside windshield wipers.

Wiping down the inside windows with rainx could also help.

My Dad bought the 45 when I was in the Navy--He ran it 1 year with no cab and then bought a cab from Tractor Supply--So I never Got to run it with no cab--Shucks

I have a 9400 that has the same issues. When worse comes to worse I open the door for awhile. Cleaning out the round filter behind the cab helps to get better airflow. Point the vents on the right posts towards the front that has helped me.
