Duluth jeans

I decided not to pile on to the overalls versus jeans thread, since it's over six months old. I haven't worn overalls since I was five, and don't intend to start now. But for years I've been disappointed with the fit and quality of Levi jeans but couldn't find anything better. Then a couple of years ago I bought a pair of blue jeans from Duluth Trading Company. The quality is impressive, and they last at least twice as long as Levis. Not cheap, but well worth the expense.

Yes, absolutely. The only danger is; do not walk into the Duluth Store with a credit card.

My boy is a big fan of Duluth.
I'm also a fan of bibs.
My boy got me some Duluth bibs.

No question they are made with heavier cloth.

I don't like the elastic straps.

Liberty bibs are my #1 choice.
Bigger pockets. Zipper pocket holds smart phone and a pair of eyes, reading glasses.

In the summer Duluth bibs are too hot to wear

I switched to wearing Duluth jeans for my work jeans and haven't looked back! They last very well. The only problem I've had is wearing a hole thru in the pliers pocket.

The key to Duluth Trading is to never pay list price. I know some will frown at this, but get on their email list and they always have a promo of some sort running. 3-4 times a year they will have a 20%, 25% or sometimes 30% off site wide. I wait for a good promo to come out and then put a pair or two in the closet to replace old jeans.

TSC sell Liberty, but have limited inventory and usually not in my size.
Amazon has all sizes and very reasonable price.

I know what size to order. I have Amazon prime. No hassle to return.

I dont like the Duluth jeans as they dont fit me right. I do really like the fire hose flex foremans pants. I buy them for my good work pants. As others have mentioned, only buy on sale or clearance for a decent price.

For jeans, I have been buying Buddys Jeans. They fit me well, arent ridiculously priced, and American made. Just ordered a few more pairs, but judging by the sizes available, not sure how much longer they will be around.

I have always wore Dickies bibs. Lately they have went to relax fit and they are way to big that I have to have them altered to fit.

I used to wear the Duluth carpenter jeans until they discontinued them. I loved them. Now all they want to sell is stretch pants. Haven't bought anything from them since.

Yes I own a 3 pair of Duluth jeans I wear once in a while. 90% of the time I wear Bibs. The pair I do wear for work I've had for 4 years and not too much wear has shown other than color fade. My favorite thing about them are the gusseted crotch. Never ripped one out on a duluth pair, but have on others usually due to them not staying where they're suppose to. Hence why I wear bibs more.

The other 2 pair I wear as my good jeans when going out.

Have no idea what you mean by stretch pants, but they still sell several styles of carpenter jeans, as well as fire hose carpenter pants.

Duluthflex is their version of stretch
pants. Which is fine if you're a pregnant
woman but I'm not. I tried a pair and they
didn't last no time at all. They only sell
one pair of actual denim jeans now. That
would be their 5 pocket jeans.

Back around 25-30 years ago when I was working construction, doing everything from footers to roofing and finish carpentry, I bought 2 pair of Sears Toughskin work jeans. I wore them every day at my job and farming. They lasted two full years showing little wear or fading. When they finally wore out I ordered two more of what they called Toughskins, they were regular denim work jeans with the Toughskin label, and lasted six months or so. I've never found any similar since.
