Hey Dieseltech

Got a Td-6 in the shop Ive been working on. This has been sitting for a few years and now when I try to switch to diesel it only runs on three cylinders. I pulled the line off of the non firing cylinder and nothing comes out the pump. I know there is about nothing for parts but was wondering if youd be interested in looking at it? You can contact me here or on my cell phone. 320/333/9980. Call or send a text message. Thanks!

I can't help on that one, don't have the tools for it. Sounds like trouble in the distributor block/cam area. The main plunger feeds the block, and block feeds the correct injector.

My experience is that the distributor discussed below can have stuck plungers that stop opening when varnished up. Sometimes the primary pump and rack get stuck, but not in yours. It can be taken apart and carb cleaner used to degum the stuck parts. Clean it externally before removal. Set the engine on compression TDC #1. Take photos. Use a manual for the fuel system. Ceep every thing ultra clean. Use no rags with lint. Put it back together using engine oil for assembly and to fill the reservoir to the window midline. Pretty simple, and zero plastic parts. Don't force things. Don't heat things more than a blow dryer, not heat gun. Good luck, Or find someone that will do it. Jim

I have a pump and injectors off a Ford 545A if you want the rebuild job let me know. Its a CAV pump.

The one thing I lke about Dieseltech. If he can't do the job. He will tell you so.A man like him is rare. I have dropped off to many items to shops. That said they could do the work. But had no idea what to do. Guys like us are getting harder to find.
