Price of heating fuel going up

My wood stove is looking better every week. I have a fire almost every night now, a little early for California. I see propane and natural gas are going up continually. I was getting tired of working with my wood, but now I don't mind it as much. I know a lot of you heat with wood also, and are enjoying the savings. Stan
 
Things must not be too bad there was a Possom that got hit in the road at the end of my drive way,at least 10 cars went by before anyone stopped to pick it up.(LOL)
 
Do people really eat those things ? I disced up dead skunk the other night I certainly hope things dont get that bad
 
OPEC is still in charge. $28 a barrel during the lock down.
Some are predicting $100 to $120 real soon.
Even Talk about selling our national oil reserve.
Europe demand for Ng is up and fear of a very cold winter.
Liquid Ng can be shipped all over the world.
Hard for some to grasp, China is reducing coal, making less steel and using more Ng. China is a major world player, even buying our corn and beans.
Fertilizer is linked to Ng. Propane and Acetylene is linked to Ng and crude.
Some farmers say their fertilizer is double or more.
Last time I had my Acetylene filled price was crazy.
The whole world relies on a cheap energy and ships to move goods.
There are many things at play. Better click your seat belt. The world is in for a bumpy ride and you can't blame one person.
 
We used to get hog,chicken and dairy feed in those sacks with designs on them,my grandmother made clothes out of them. BTW if SV runs short I have about 100 of the real burlap bags with the Southern States Coop design on them,perfect condition and have been washed ready to wear just cut the neck hole to fit.
 
This is nothing new. Price goes up. Price goes down. Prognostications of doom and gloom abound regardless which way the price goes. There isn't a d*mned thing we can do about it. Life goes on.

My brother has been an avid raccoon hunter his whole life. Decades ago, when he had about a dozen dogs, he made his own dog food using 55 gallon drums over a wood fire, filled with corn meal and raccoon meat. He would've had no problem throwing in a road-kill 'possum. He now buys his dog food in bulk from the local dog food factory.

World markets and demands determines the price not the US.
 
But oil was over 140 dollars a barrel about 15 years ago....gasoline hit 1.40 a litre here in Ontario at the time. Someone is making a good profit today.....

Ben the some one is not a person. its many who buy stock in the company.. that also includes pension funds .
 
We could go back to corn stoves, but the price of corn has gone up even more than than the price of oil in the past year.
 
China has approximately 800 coal fired generation stations under construction or in planning stage.

China also has about 115 nuclear generation stations under construction or in planning stge.

Before long China will be the only game in town unless things change here at home.
