yes a wood splitter. just going to make it simple and strong. kinda wanted a longer I beam but thats all i had so just extended it. and decided to go with 3 cyl with 11 in. stroke. was gonna go with the 2 in. cyl with 2 in stroke but thought i will end up changing to the larger cyl anyhow. got some big old knotty spruce blocks to split. gonna run it off the charlyn pump on the ta w6. that way just stand behind the tractor and operate hyd's. , that way dont need an engine or control valve . just tractor will burn more fuel than a small engine but its not like going to use it often.

Rustred. Got a question. When welding while attached to your tractor, do have to take any precautions against the tractors electrical system? Thanks Wingnut

I built one similar on my JD A over 40 years ago. I used a 4 x 14 cylinder due to the low pressure hydraulics(1000psi). Not the most powerful splitter, but it split just about everything I threw at it and cost less than $100. All the wood I split with it would make a VERY large pile and it still works.

not on this 70 year old tractor. no computers out then, just a good idea to keep the ground close to where you are welding is about it. its the new stuff you got to be careful . believe its disconnect the batteries also on them.
