Friday morning at 5am I saw this listed on Facebook marketplace. Had been listed 5 hours, I sent a message, said I wanted it, trailer hooked up ready to roll. About 140 miles away in north Alabama. All our boys were coming that evening for supper ( a rare occurrence) Wife said I would have to go alone while she cooked. Guy finally answered back at 3 pm, said someone else had messaged before me and they were coming to get it. 20 minutes later he sent his phone number and told me to come on. I called him, other guy was a low baller, I told him I couldn't come Friday that late, kids were coming. Couldn't go Saturday because of trunk or treat at church, then Sunday morning church, but I could come as soon as church let out at noon Sunday. He said if you get me a bottle of muscadine wine from that cool little winery down there I will hold it for you! Also told me there was several other people that had messaged him about it, I begged and pleaded, lol. We have owned 20+ cubs over the years but never had one with a fast hitch. This 1975 cub has fast hitch, disk, scrape blade, cultivators and extra cultivator parts. Bought it all for $900. I tipped him $50 and the wine for holding it for us. He said it would run, we took a good battery, but the solenoid apparently is bad...... Oh well, we winched it on the trailer!

Beautiful part of Alabama!

I couldn't believe the price! I felt terrible asking him to hold it for me. Was amazed and happy he did! Every now and then it works out!

Your picture of the countryside just proves what pre conceived ideas we(I) have of different parts of the country. I would have never guessed there was landscape like that in Alabama. We try to travel a lot and take some of the side roads but you can't get them all. Every state has so many different areas. We are going to the Smoky Mtns this week, plan on taking a different route this time. Since we both retired we aren't in such a hurry. As for the Cubs your collection makes me want one but they are not that affordable in MN and not as many.

If you driving south on I 75, Spend one day driving the back roads around Lexington. Old Frankfort Pike, Big Sink Pike, Newtown Pike, Paris Pike, and any roads that cross them. Bluegrass horse farms are not practical, but they are very scenic. Visit the new Bluegrass Stockyards just off of 64 75. They have a nice place to eat

That ought to clean up nice. Saw one here for $3800. With out any equipment. Wishful thinking maybe?

Dang! I would love to have that. Your daughter still in Birmingham? Bring it next time y'all visit?!?
