V belt care

You may be like me----I have accumulated a collection of v belts for spares etc. Other than making sure they dont sit exposed to the weather, is there anything you do care-wise to make sure they are ready to go when needed and prevent them from rotting away in the shop?

I have mine hanging on the wall.

I don't know what else you can do. They do have a shelf life, and like everything else made of rubber, it's probably shorter than it used to be.

When I was a kid my dad used to stock belts at his service station. Some of them hung there for probably 20-30 years. I ended up throwing the old ones away as they would break either on start up or a day or 2 later.

I have a bunch hanging on the wall also, good to have to avoid a special trip to town/ figure out a size. I don't expect them to last like a new one
