JD 3010 gas.... oil pressure light issue

Can not get the oil pressure light to come ON when the engine is not running. It will not light up --juice to the bulb , but still not lit. New bulb --tested everything ---what am I missin ? gas engine. Thanks.

Make sure the ground is good.

I believe it works by the pressure switch (sender) providing the ground. Try grounding the wire to the pressure switch. If it lights get a new sender. If not there an issue with wire. On my gas 4020 I always had problems with positive side where it connects to the key switch.

IF there's power to one side of the indicator lamp socket and the socket and bulb are "good", trace the wire (blue, IIRC) to the oil pressure switch.

There's a multiple pin connector under the back of the hood that joins the harness from the switch panel and instrument panel to the front/engine harness and it NOT uncommon for it to not be plugged in all the way/latched, or have dirty, burned, or popped out terminal pins.
