FWIW - cursive IS taught at the school that my grandson goes to - along with common core math. They sure managed to make simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division more complicated than they need to be. Apparently the objective was to make math too hard even for a parent to understand. Or maybe it was for some yuppie college grad to justify his/her/its job.
