Changing belts with front mounted Hydraulic pump.

Hi, I read through the entries on replacing belts if you have a front hydraulic pump. I have to replace the belt on an 860 model Ford. There several mentions of link belts. They aren't cheap. I have used them on several machines from table saws to metal lathes and milling machines. They work very well and seem to have less noise and vibration. They hold up well. I have one that was on my dad's table saw back in the 60's. It and the saw still in use.

Yep, that's what they are made for, difficult to replace applications.

Should work well with a slow revving tractor engine.

I've never used one but have known of them for years, never had an application where one was needed.

I now own an old MF Work Bull 202 loader/backhoe that is going to need one soon. Whatever price one is will be well worth it.

I have a link belt on my forklift. Been on
several years works well. Had to take a
couple more links out after a year or so
but it has quite a few hours on it. Go
with the good ones not cheap ones.

I replaced the fan belt on our IH 300U with loader and front mounted pump. Took me about 8 hours, no
kidding. On any other brand tractor I own it is a 5 minute job. The belt was original and lasted about 60
years. I wont be doing it again most likely.
